Spenard is a neighborhood in Anchorage located between Northern Lights Boulevard to the North and International Airport Road to the South; and Fish Creek to the West and Arctic Boulevard to the East.
The area of Spenard has many parks and is next to Lake Spenard and Lake Hood, which has a water airport. Residents can shop at the Northern Lights shopping mall or at one of the many unique small businesses run the area. Spenard also has a weekly farmer's market and other public events held in the parking lot under the windmill.
Spenard is near the Ted Stevens International Airport, and being next to Midtown Anchorage makes it an excellent location to commute to work and school from.
